If you asked me who I am, I'd probably forget to tell you my name.
Instead, I'd tell you that I'm taller than most, but shorter than some. I'd laugh at how silly I am because I run away from opportunities to get the things I want the most. I'd purse my lips and confess I have a talent for pushing people away and lighting fires under bare feet. I'd warn you about my sarcasm and shyly say how I hate my southern accent. Then I'd flash a flirty smile and tell you I'm a terrible driver.
And if you were to wait around a little more, I'd probably tell you about the boy with the smooth caramel skin and almond-shaped eyes, who has changed my life forever. I'd let it slip that have matching freckles on either side of my hips. I'd say that I've been a ballerina for nine years, and I dance on pointe. Later, I would confess that I have a passion for making people laugh. I'd brush my bangs out of my eyes and giggle that I'm half Canadian and tell you pink is my favorite color. Then I'd notice that it's getting late and give you a hug. I'd say what a pleasure it had been to meet you, and hope you get home safely.
I'd pick up my purse and walk off thinking how much better I would look if i was wearing my favorite heels and some red lipstick. And I would have forgotten you by the time I turned the corner.

That's when you'd remember that I forgot to tell you my name.
But you didn't really need to know my name to know who I am, did you?
